About

Hi, I’m Peggy Paulson I started Assistive Technology for Kids, LLC in 2009.

I am a Registered Occupational Therapist(OTR)  and also an Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP).

AT4Kids provides continuing education for anyone who has an interest in using technology to improve the academic life of a student with special needs.  Participants in our programs include special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologists, physical therapists, vision teachers, deaf educators, school administrators, parents, siblings and friends.

I have been an OT since graduating from the University of Missouri in 1976.  Over the years I have worked in all areas of Occupational Therapy including rehab, psychiatry, home health, geriatrics, early intervention, private practice and as a school based therapist.

In 1998, I formed the first Assistive Technology Team for Williamson County Schools, a large suburban system just south of Nashville. I love working with technology and seeing what it can do to increase  independence for students in the classroom.

I am a founding board member and continue to serve on the board of TAAT – the Tennessee Association for Assistive Technology.  TAAT is a non-profit group that provides an annual AT training conference for educators and others interested in AT across the state.  I have co-chaired the conference since 2004.

I am a member of  AOTA,  TAAT, and RESNA and  have  presented at national and state wide conferences including ATIA Chicago, TAAT,  Tennessee Technology in Education Conference,  ATIA Orlando, and the Kentucky Occupational Therapy Association.
